Hello Post 68 members!

I want to take this opportunity to wish you a health

y and joyful New Year, and if you are like me, I look around and can’t believe that it's 2026!

It’s amazing when we look back over the year and see what our Post has been doing. A quick recap:  Programs and activities have included Oratorical Contest(unfortunately this past year due to weather all the preparation for it was in vain), 4 Chaplains Service, Chamber Business Expo, VEAC, Memorial Day Veteran Recognition, Poppy Day, Flag Day Picnic, 4th of July Parade, Car Show, WWAY Veteran Expo, Fall Festival, Veterans Day Parade, Golf Tourney, Belville Veterans Day, Wreaths Across America, quarterly Blood drives, monthly Brunswick Cove activity, not everyone participates in everything but everyone is welcome to.  The Post has supported North Brunswick Junior ROTC, Brunswick Family Assistance, Vet Smiles, Honor Flight, Veteran Day Parade & Belville Veteran Day Event, Field of Honor Flags, Blue Star Mothers Morale Boxes, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, VEAC, and of course, Veterans in need.  Many members have attended memorials for members and community veterans here in Brunswick County, and also through participation with Life Care and Patriot Guard.

There are many additional small and not so small things that have been put in place, which includes reaching out through Buddy Checks to connect with members, holiday social for members, a process to collect and retire Flags at multiple sites just to name a few. And under the Be The One program, an online resource tool has been put in place, and contact with multiple agencies has been made.

As you can see, the Post has been busy, and the above is just a sampling of what has occurred.  Many hours have been given by Post members to make the above happen for our community, and everything that you do has helped the Post make a difference.  Thank YOU.

Your membership is important – for the Post & the American Legion.  At times you may not be able to give time to an activity and that’s understandable; life and multiple responsibilities fill all of our calendars.   2026 is now HERE, and if you haven’t submitted your 2026 registration dues, please either send them in or you can bring them to a meeting.  I hope you are excited about what 2026 will bring for the Post and look forward to seeing and hearing from you.

As we connect with each other, we can truly make a difference and be a support for each other.

Thank you.

Bea Frost - Commander, American Legion Post 68
