"Supporting local veterans, their families, and the North Brunswick County community"

Greetings,
My name is Tom Powers, and as Commander, I am reaching out on behalf of the John E. Jacobs American Legion Post 68 in Leland, North Carolina. Post 68 is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of local veterans, their families, and our community through cooperation, service, and helpfulness.

Our post includes more than 220 veterans representing all branches of the U.S. military. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to building a strong base of veterans in northern Brunswick County and serving their collective needs.

About the 2026 Golf Tournament
Since our inaugural event in 2023, Post 68’s golf tournaments have been resounding successes, helping fund the programs and services we provide throughout the year. We hope you will join us in 2026 as we continue those efforts.

The 2026 “Tee It Up Fore Veterans” Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Magnolia Greens Golf Course, 1800 Tommy Jacobs Drive, Leland, NC, as part of our Veterans Day activities.

Funds raised through this event directly support local veterans and their families. Sponsorship also provides participating businesses with brand exposure, networking opportunities, media visibility, and potential tax benefits through support of a 501(c)(19) veterans’ nonprofit organization. All funds raised remain local.
Wreaths Across America Partnership
Once again, Post 68 is incorporating Wreaths Across America to increase awareness and help ensure every veteran gravesite at Wilmington National Cemetery is honored with a wreath during the Christmas season. Each sponsorship level includes a set number of wreaths, and sponsors may purchase additional wreaths if they choose, using the following link:

Our veterans sacrificed so much for us, and no veteran gravesite should go without honor during the holidays. Over the past three years, more than 2,000 Leland and Wilmington-area residents have participated in the ceremony honoring veteran graves.
