Greetings,

My name is Bea Frost and I am reaching out to you on behalf of the John E. Jacobs American Legion Post 68 located here in Leland.

Post 68 strives to enhance the well-being of Leland’s veterans, their families, and our community by virtue of devotion to cooperation and helpfulness. Currently, our post membership totals 250+ veterans, representing all branches of the US military. As a growing post, we continue to dedicate ourselves to building a strong base of veterans in northern Brunswick County and servicing their collective needs.

Since our inaugural event in 2023, our three golf tournaments have been resounding successes, enabling Post 68 to support its many programs. We hope you will join us in 2026 as we continue our efforts.

Once again, we are incorporating Wreaths Across America to increase awareness and ensure that every veteran grave site at the Wilmington National Cemetery is honored with a wreath at Christmas time. Every sponsorship level includes a set number of wreaths as noted in that tier. You also will have the option of purchasing additional wreaths. Our veterans sacrifice so much for us and no grave site should go un-honored during the holidays. For the past three years, over two thousand Leland / Wilmington residents participated in the ceremony honoring veteran graves.

This year’s “Tee It Up Fore Veterans” Golf Scramble will be on Thursday, November 5 th as part of our Veterans Day activities at the Magnolia Greens Golf Course, 1800 Tommy Jacobs Dr, Leland, NC. The event will begin at 8:00 am with golfer check-in followed by a 10:00 am shotgun start with a field of 176 golfers. Lunch, putting contest finals, and other activities will commence at the conclusion of the round, along with the awarding of prizes.

This event will raise funds specifically targeted towards helping local veterans and their families. Please assist us in supporting those that sacrificed so much for us. Not only will you be helping them, but your business will also benefit from brand exposure, networking opportunities, media exposure, and tax benefits, all of which come with supporting our 501(c)(19) veterans’ non-profit organization. Your donations to the post are welcome and greatly appreciated. 100% of all funds raised remain local.
